Non - GM vitamin E has been and remains the most difficult ingredient to source.

At last EU regulation that has a purpose!

In recent years it has become apparent that genetic modification of crops was to be adopted in mass agriculture practices, especially those imported from the United States, where public opinion appears to accept the use of genetically modified crops.

The crops that could be affected by genetic modification are - chicory, cotton, flax, maize, papaya, potato, rice, soy, sugar beet, sunflower, tomato and wheat.

The EU introduced regulation requiring the labelling of products where ingredients are produced from crops which have been genetically modified , or contains any genetically modified components. This regulation has enabled Quest to obtain from suppliers full disclosure of processing aids and ingredient sources.

As a result, Quest has been able to ensure that it uses ingredients that are:

1. not associated with genetically modified crops, and
2. from identity preserved sources to guarantee that crops have not been genetically modified where ingredients are derived from a crop that can potentially be genetically modified
